Problems with General gold color

CRACKING / FLAKING

Use of lower quality primer that has inadequate adhesion and flexibility over thinning or overspreading the paint. or appropriate primer was not used. Inadequate surface preparation, or applying the paint to the surfaces without first applying a primer. 


Remedy

Remove loose and flaking paint with a scraper or wire brush, sanding the surface and feathering the edges. If the flaking occurs in multiple layers of paint, using a filler may be necessary. Prime the surfaces before repainting. Use of a top quality primer and top coat should prevent a recurrence of the problem.

BLISTERING

Probable Cause
Mostly happened with the iron fence that used Enamel paint, when repainting with inappropriate Gold paint (Fast-drying formula) caused hollow bubbles in the paint film.

Prevention
Use recommended Hato Gold products MG-111 (America), MG-333 (Europe) and AG-234 (Europe) for repaint on top of Enamel paint
Use recommended thinner/reducers at recommended amount

Remedy
Polish the surface with sandpaper
Cleaned with water and leave completely dried
Repaint

DISCOLORATION

Probable Cause
Use low-quality Gold paint can be discoloration within 2-3 years under harsh weather, especially for exterior used.

Prevention
Using Hato Gold paint which is miraculously gorgeous with high weather durability and can use both interior and exterior without color deteriorating over 10 years.
